Can you make a small video (with sound if possible) of the dashboard to see the road speed and engine rpm during gear changes? To see this slipping you're talking about?
Maybe it's only the TCC partly and then fully engaging and then all could be OK...

A video of the noise is at https://ufile.io/n54ry (couldn't upload to gallery?) - but you have to really listen for it due to the mobile phone picking up the road noise more! Note at least one of the rev drops was probably from reducing throttle due to other traffic.

In fact the site clearly states: Simply upload a file, share the link, and after it is downloaded, the file is completely deleted.
It may be already downloaded by someone and got deleted.... So post it somewhere where it won't expire for a while...

But again, a video with the instrument cluster will be much more informative.
So get to a free road in order to not be forced to reduce the throttle and film again, if possible. Thanks!

You are exactly in the RPM range of engaging TCC. Up to a point could be normal.
Preferably a much longer movie, with a much more gear changes, in a more variate way, will be welcome.
But, is it my impression or there is a lot of cha-cha-cha noise (surge) from the turbo?
Because if there is a problem with the engine/turbo, this could confuse a lot the torque calculation functions and therefore the autobox could function abnormally. Especially the TCC apply procedures, in that RPM range.

In the earlier part of the video that I cut off, the phone seemed to pick up more of the chah noise than I can hear. The video you saw contains what I can hear.

When you heard the chah noises, did you immediately think turbo?

Is there anything I can do to rule in/out turbo?

Today's update:

Have reproduced the problem having not gone above 50mph (first post updated).

The mid-level drone starts at 19mph and tails off around 42mph, and seems to come from the front of the car (first post updated).

I have pulled FB6 fuse, got the HDC error, and reproduced the problem - so I don't think it's being caused by Haldex or rear diff.

Is your "electric throttle" functioning OK?
I mean, is it possible to be a little defective and blocking the intake, like in the second video?
