P f jones 13 pin wiring kit. Who has it?

Been having an awful time trying to get a Land Rover 13 pin tow kit, eBay sellers saying they have them only to be told it is on back order. Ordered one from island 4x4 thinking it was an original but turns out it was a Brit part (hate Brit part) so sent it back same day. So on advice from here I ordered a p f jones one. It looks very similar to the Brit part one but it came with an extra box of wiring which has to be connected to the battery. And to make matters worse the plug from that does not fit to the plug on the tow kit Rolling Eyes on reading the instructions do I need this second bit of kit. Is it for charging your caravan battery while hooked up to the car. Thanks for any replies in advance, marto GS Sd4 2012

Sorry to hear you are not yer sorted - have you spoken to PF Jones? They are very knowledgable and helpful - unlike a lot of suppliers I have found they actually know about the kit they supply No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Hi

I also have the P F Jones kit fitted, I wasnt quiet sure what the second battery harness was for either so haven't fitted it yet as i didnt fancy the cable routing through the cab and then throguh the bulkhead however after the ccf edit the kit seems to be working as planned without it so not sure. I will watch with interest to see if the answer appears.

Oh yeah just a little word of caution the door for the main plug seems a little fragile mine snapped at the hinge really easy when it got caught on the plug when I took it out for the first time, the plastic seemed quite brittle hopefully it was just a defect on my plug but thought it might be worth mentioning.

Matt

Thanks for the replies. Good to know I don't need the second wiring kit. I think it is for charging caravan better IRS it it goes straight to the external plug. Your right about the brittleness of the plug. A little piece has broken off from the inside. But all seem to be ok for now. Marty GS Sd4 2012
