Am I being petty

My wife and I have just had our driveway and front of the house done out with block paving and are quite happy with the work finished yesterday.
The concern comes now thou that our neighbour (we live in a semi detatched) decided while ours was being done she wanted something similar.
As a result of this the guys who did ours are doing hers and, for want of a better word, I feel they fudged ours a little at the border area.

The photo attached shows the work in progress I came home to today.

I've added some colour to the pic to try and explain things.

It was a concrete slab a cross the front of the houses and hers ran to the right of the blue line, ours originally ran to the left of this line but the contractors finished along the red line as they knew her job was next.
Naively I accepted this as they said they would complete the job while doing hers but I now find that they seem to have moved the border accross into out property so we loose the shaded area and end up with a staggered borderline (old line is that centre top, a small concrete kerb) that to my mind looks messy.
I know it a only a small area that we lose, nothing really useable, but I don't like this at all and have e-mailed the contractors such.

What do people think, am I being petty over this or not?

No you're not being petty with this there is right and wrong and that's it,it all comes down to measurements and plans, yes people fall out over things like this but if it was me I wouldn't be happy.

Looks like laziness - they put the framing board on your property, which I suppose is fair enough, but they need to replace it with a permanent strip. Make them do it, or relay the edge up to your border. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Boundaries are always contentious and generally ill defined. I have been in discussion with my solicitor recently about a minor issue where the corner of my garage built in 1980 is apparently slightly over the boundary.
If you do nothing then in 12 years time your neighbour will own the bit of land by "adverse possession". Apparently when you buy land you know it's owned by the seller because of his deeds, but how do you know that the person he bought it from owned it and then the person before him etc? To avoid having to go back to Domesday Book the law states that if you have a piece of land and someone uses it without challenge from the owner for 12 years then it becomes theirs. There were some changes in the 2003 Act regarding registered land but I believe that fundamentally the principle still holds. ps I am not a lawyer. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I think the contractors have done a sloppy job taking the easiest option for them, so in that sense they are treating your property as if it were their own. That would be fine if it was their property but it isn't, it's yet another case of building and allied trades people taking liberties with your property. I don't think you are being petty at all and that you should insist on the job being done fully to your satisfaction - after all your money was fully to their satisfaction.

Hi all, thanks for your thoughts, glad its not just me who thinks its poor.

I spoke to the contractors yesterday who said they would sort it to how it should be.

Unfortionately they didn't finish our neighbours work due to some other problems I guess but I spoke to the main man before they left asking what the plan was and when.

I was told they would be here today finishing off and planned to do things as they should with two kerb and the neighbours kerb trimmed off so as not in our garden.

Unfortionately we weren't home today but came home to what you can see below.

To say I'm annoyed is an understatement.
I've rung them to make it clear this isn't acceptable and have sent an email with photo asking why this should be deemed ok!I'm now waiting for feedback how and when they will resolve this.
