Ok so ... here's the view ive become so accustomed to. I've got it down to nine minutes flat to remove the whole bumper assembly. If you need to know a step-by-step tutorial check my other posts on the radiator AND cooling fan replacements. You won't believe the amount of repairs I've been able to make without removing the intake this way

Here's the view from the headlight hole. Lots you could replace through here!

Here you can see the hose and the 1/4" drive clamp on the bottom on the oil cooler. Top is held to with a t-27 torx bit.

Hose is off! Have your new hose prepped with clamp and ready to slap on the oil cooler to minimize coolant loss. A little came out of the upper opening. A ton will come out of the oil cooler. I held my finger on the oil cooler nipple to minimize coolant loss and then quickly slipped on the bottom end hose. Look how swollen compared with the new one.

So I went to re install the upper part of the hose but quickly found out that the original hose end nipple was broken off inside the coolant passage. I also quickly realized SO WAS THE O RING THAT IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS HOSE WHEN YOU BUY IT. I was in a time crunch pickle so I dug out the O-ring and the plastic nipple and was forced to reuse the O-ring. See photo.

I reinstalled the hose, filled with coolant, checked for leaks , and reinstall the bumpers. Viola! |
