Did you get a full alignment done, not just the front? (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

What was the original wear pattern? I'm guessing they were wearing on the inside. |

Was on geolanders originally but had even wear so put a full new set of pirellis on and tracked at the same time for ease of mind. All round laser job at kwikfit. However the insides are wearing on the front so got retracked, all round. The rears still have 7mm on them but the fronts are 2,4,6 from inside to out. The feeling since being tracked is awfully twitchy and new tyres needed after 4 months is pretty poor and worrying. |

I had a Volvo V40 that felt awful to drive after having tracking done. The company used 4 lasers and I believe the fronts were just aligned to the back. The car drifted to one side and I felt it turned better one way than the other. I had a proper 4 wheel alignment done, where they looked at how each wheel was rotating and correctly set it up. It took a bit of time but the results were amazing. The car felt completely different and cornered as if on rails. I never have the laser thing done now. You should get a proper alignment done. I get a print out of all settings showing whether in or out of spec when mine is done. |
