Ive done this to three Fl2s.

My tips :

Door surfaces need to be clean and degreased well.

Make sure the ambient warm is warm enough. I use a hair dryer to gently warm the strips and door. (Dont use a heat gun - its too hot and its too easy to damage things)

I used masking tape to hold the each strip in place whilst I stood back to check alignment. Then I placed a few washable marks (eg 2B pencil) where the upper edge of the strip needs to be.

I cut the end silver foil in half and gradually pulled the red tape off from above and below as I went along, rather than pulling it off in one go and having long sticky edges to deal with - I didnt have another person to help.

Then went over each strip giving the edges a hard press.

Never had any ends peeling off.

Yep, got mine from Matfords too. Just follow what jules says and you can't go wrong.

I have ordered side mouldings for my firenza red Freelander2, and having 2nd thoughts about them enhancing the appearance of the car,and ordering black vent fittings have I done the right thing?

I am very happy with mine

Nah I hate LRs use of multiple coloured components and have spent a lot of time and effort getting rid of the grey and greyish bits on mine to create a consistent theme - monochrome !
i reckon the red car would look good with black side vents too
