Might help if you give the full fault code or put the full fault code into Google. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Good it's in your manual but I placed what I could find on Google and did say it was a Discovery Code not Freelander so not wrong as such. Working on a balance of probabilities a fair chance it could carry over if no other info coming up. Hope this was not too confusing

Thanks Yorky Bob. No wonder my mechanic walked away! I have a sinking feeling that my local LR garage is going to be involved soon, which isn't something I want to go through again. £135 plus VAT per hour labour together with whatever else they can dream up, and then not necessarily fixing the problem anyway fills me with dread. My car was fine to drive today, so I will hang on until it happens again (if it ever does - fingers firmly crossed). My 15 year old Freelander 1 with more than double the miles on the clock was less trouble than this one, and I am beginning to wish I hadn't changed cars. |

I wish I had never bought this blasted car. Now it has a distinct lack of oomph which suddenly corrects, and the engine runs rough for a short while before going back to normal. I'm aiming to book it into Gigglepin in Kent to see what they come up with, unless anyone can recommend any other LR independent specialists in Kent? |

I don't know Gigglepin but I have found RCV to be very helpful: http://www.rcv.co.uk/ |

Thank you indeed Greybeard. Today I went to RCV, who couldn't have been more helpful. They ran diagnostics which led them to reset the throttle valve actuator (whatever one of those is). The best bit? They didn't charge me anything! So far so good - no engine cutting out, no juddering, and no hesitation when accelerating. Fingers are crossed once again. |
