Honest Johns just put up the 10 worst cars for after market warranty claims. I wonder which brand fared worst ? Can you guess.

Not the best advert for the LR range of used cars is it. At least the FL2 avoided a public humiliation. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I popped in to see my mother last night and there was a copy of "Which" on the table. I picked it up for a casual "flick through" and noticed that the Discovery Sport was labelled as "One to Avoid" with 50% of owners reporting problems and each car spending an average of 4 days per year off the road

@jenks: I've had access to Which for years (Dad's had a subscription from the very start in the 1950's!!) and I can't remember a year or a time when they've ever recommended a product from Land Rover because of their "poor reliability" record. When they have carried out tests on products that I really know about, their conclusions have usually been very shallow and shown little evidence of extensive research, yet they can happily publish damning conclusions. If I was one of the manufacturers that they continually rubbish (Dyson is another predictable one), I'd be unhappy about it.

I believe the Which surveys have always covered 10 years of production with at least 2 changes of models but using the same name for LR products, the FL2 was always included with the FL1 for years, therefore Disco will always come out badly especially as the early ones will not have proper servicing on their 3rd and 4th owners. Unreliability in Which terms included lamp failure and broken switches, Dyson was considered unreliable as most failures noted were due to over stretched hoses (not that Which mentioned that) and a high number of repairs against others, where most vacuums were thrown away so no repair and completely reliable with a lifespan of 2-3 years. Which is written for the south of Watford Gap with no technical knowledge or gumption to buy without using any other references. Which is now more of a Readers Digest marketing company than a genuine consumer magazine. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Yep I totally agree that "Which" car ratings are often strange and need to be taken with a large "pinch of salt". (The BMW X6 was their top ranked Large SUV for quite a while which I found totally baffling especially given that most of their subscribers probably drive a Honda Jazz!!.) The quoted reliability for the DS is presumably real data from people who respond to their survey. It is a new model so unlikely to be confused with anything else. I don't know how big the sample size was, though that information will be in the full survey report somewhere. Anyway, just passing on the information
