United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Aintree Green
Finally took the plunge into Freelander ownership!

Having joined this forum 5 years ago and "ummed" and "arred" for years, I've finally taken the plunge and bought a MY13 SD4 Auto HSE Lux. High miler, 77k, but has full LR history, so hopefully should be good for a bit more work.

Have to say I'm very impressed so far. It feels solid, drives a bit like my old '54 D3 (which I've held onto for now). Got it as a car for wife and I to enjoy for longer journeys (she has Mini Countryman) as D3 just a bit too big. Have to admit, I was tempted by an X3 3.0 auto a couple of years ago. The BM had very good performance and is better on fuel, but it had a disappointing audio system. The visibility of the FL2 is so much better. Also much nicer ride. The sound of that 825 watt audio system was the clincher! And its got that real Land Rover feel which makes the BM feel soul-less by comparison.

Bought an Evoque a year ago. It looked good, but awful visibility. Felt claustrophobic. And really poor mpg. Got rid after 6 months. Also had Disco Sport courtesy car recently. Really didn't like it at all either. Poor visibility and choppy ride. Somehow managed to feel flimsy/cheap by comparison.

So it looks like the FL2 is the last of the really good mid-sized Land Rovers. The local LR dealer say they find FL2s easier to sell than its newer replacements.

So I'm a legit member at last! And looking forward to enjoying my FL2 and talking to others on the forum.

Cheers,

Cheers Iain, maybe LR will win you back another day!

Enjoy the Volvo. I liked the XC60.

Hi, MacSweep

Sorry to hijack this thread but would you be interested in a full size spare (never used) on a 17" alloy? I no longer have my FL2.

I am also in Bedfordshire so transport not a problem. Am looking for £75.

Posted for sale here previously:

Thanks Luke, but mine already has a full size spare. Also the wheels are 19s.

Have you tried eBay?

Cheers,

Mac
