Parking sensors muting?

I've read through a few past posts on the subject but haven't got to the bottom of this yet.
My GS has a LR tow bar and electrics (already fitted when I bought the car but they have LR stamped on them) however when I connect my caravan the sensors continue to go off, I thought with the LR set up this would not be the case or will they need more work or upgrades before this can happen.

I only have rear sensors so no dash switch Crying or Very sad

Thanks 2013 GS Baltic Blue - part exchanged now for Volvo V40

Same year etc as mine - which was just a case of plug and play for the towing loom - the sensors are muted as soon as I plug in the trailer - something is amiss with yours but what that might be and how to find it easily ?? No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

I will have a word with the Landrover specialist who sorted my brakes recently they might be able to investigate. Trying to reverse and connect to the 'van with the sensors screaming at me is not fun. 2013 GS Baltic Blue - part exchanged now for Volvo V40

So are you are trying to reverse to connect to your van ? Or are you saying connected to your van and reversing ? If it is the former its not going to turn off "screaming" until you plug in to the van. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Sorry, not written clearly, it goes off when I reverse the 'van with the electrics connected (obviously when reversing up to the 'van too} such a shame there is not a switch or mute button! 2013 GS Baltic Blue - part exchanged now for Volvo V40

Our MY13 year GS with a tow bar works fine with a trailer connected in reverse with no warning noise so its a fault you need to bottom it out then. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Thanks all for your assistance. There is a possibility it could be the caravan as it has all LED road lighting and this has caused problems for some some LR models as the car does not recognise that a 'van is connected as the voltage used is so low. It has mainly caused problems with 'van lights though. 2013 GS Baltic Blue - part exchanged now for Volvo V40

I understand you can lower the volume of the reversing sensors, just rotate the volume dial down when it starts to sound. doesn't solve the issue but may help..this method works with my XS spec, worth a try.

I'll try that tomorrow, might solve most of the problem if it works on mine. 2013 GS Baltic Blue - part exchanged now for Volvo V40

not that I have a towbar fitted but from what ive read on here, the 2013MY is plug and play electrics that will automatically disable the rear parking sensors when the caravan/trailer/bike rack electrics are connected.

If your sensors are not disabling when cabled up then it could be a problem with the towbar electrics or as you say it could be a problem with the LED lights on the caravan.

If its the latter is it possible to fit a resistor in-line to fool the towbar electrics ? (assuming the electrics are plumbed in correctly)

Mine has a similar problem, but..... I have noticed the following. Mine is fitted with 13 pin Jobbie. When I tow a trailer with a 13 to 7 adaptor in play. I can't get the sensors to switch off when reversing.... however. When I'm hooked up to a genuine 13 pin on a caravan. No problemo, reverse clears the rear sensors....

Hope that helps..
