longitudinal link bushes

A clunky noise at the rear was diagnosed as worn out bushes of the longitudinal links on my 2009 TD4. Now my mechanic comes back to me telling that the whole link needs to be replaced because the bushes at the wheel end are an integrated part of the link. Is this true and can't I just replace the bushes ? Does anyone have any experience with this or an opinion ? Sunny thanks from SA.

Time V Money situation as there will be a way of just changing a bush but you have to first find one and then find a person with enough brains to do it .

A bit like bearings, I can take a worn bearing I have taken out to a local bearing supplier who can match it up at way less price than placing an order via say Land Rover. What I can't do is go to the bearing man prior to the strip out as he needs the example so its Time V Money plus hasttle.

Ask a local LR dealer parts department if they can supply all the bushes for an arm would soon give you an idea of the local situation (here comes the hasttle). Rolling Eyes FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Thanks Bob, time vs money is always the challenge over here. The local man in my small town is fairly new to Freelanders (not many around over here) and the official LR dealer is 2,5 hours away with all the marble and glass you can expect. I asked for a quote for the new link from my local man and take it from there I think

You could ask for the link back if he changes it and as and when see if some local workshop can bush it. Spares or ebay it then possibly as a refurbished unit. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
