Over the last couple of weeks we have been travelling the A12,M25,M20 route. On numerous occasions there have been long delays caused by crashes, congestion, pot holes, etc, you name it. I have all the TMC settings on the nav set to "on" . None of the hold ups have appeared on the nav system, should they? Traffic announcements on the radio seem to work as normal switching to local TAs then back to the national programme. As I rarely use the nav system on main routes I have not noticed before if any info has been coming up. Any thoughts?

System is a non disc 2014 type. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Can't help with the settings but I obviously have it right, but here in the UK and countries in Europe while towing this year, it never failed to flag up traffic problems. Indication was either a similar coloured parallel line to the road or a black line on the screen, the parallel line can be confused with a red coloured additional road at some zoom screens.

I seem to recall that there is an option to choose what radio station the TMC gets it's info from, mind you that may just be for the traffic announcements. A quick check in the settings should confirm this for you

Thanks for that, I assumed the indication would be a red triangle or something. At the top of the nav screen there is a little green square with two cars. If I hit that it says "no TMC events", I assume that means the system has not picked up a signal indicating a traffic problem which makes me think it is not working properly. Ho Hum!
