Forgive me, I have not been on here for a long time.
My 14 plate SE Tech is coming to the end of it's warranty period and I am looking to begin some projects on the car, first being to fit the missing reversing camera.
I have searched through previous posts on this subject but I cannot find the answers I require, so if I may......

In one of the posts, I noticed someone said that the reversing camera plugged into a socket located inside the roof lining at the top right hand side near the tailgate. I've (hopefully) posted a couple of photo's showing this position of my car, I can only find the socket shown it has a terminating plug inserted with some looped cable, think it's the Can Bus loop.
Is anyone able to confirm that this is the correct plug please? I was looking for a Fakra connection.





If it is, I am seeking the LR part number for the linking cable from that socket to the camera in the tailgate.
I only have a wiring diagram for up to 2010 I think it is, can I log onto TOPIX without being a dealer?
That's it for now 3 questions, once I get started no doubt there will be more info required.

I'll assume that it is for the moment anyway as I cannot find any other vacant connector.

I've answered my own question regarding TOPIX.

Would some kind soul with access to JLR web site be willing to send me a snapshot of the appropriate section of the wiring diagram for a Metropolis please?

Hi Grafeel,

I've sent you a PM with a PDF of the information I have with regards connecting the rear camera.

There are 4 connections to be made;
1) V+ which is the connector you have found
2) GND which is a local body connection
3) VIDEO to the touch screen. Its above the connector you've found, looks like its evil to reach.
4) CAN connection which is made inside the tailgate.

I was personally hoping it would be easier to connect to as I plan to do the same at some point.

That's exactly what I need, thanks very much.
Did not realize there were two connectors involved under the headlining.
I just have to find a part number for that patch lead, headlining to tailgate.
Then I need to know which fields to activate in the CCF, hopefully should be fairly self evident when I get in there.
Need the hardware first though.

Just to keep this thread updated, many thanks to Vanny and Willy 974 for providing me with information, part numbers, etc.
From that, I have managed to obtain everything I needed to install the cabling & camera.

Having read through countless forum posts on this and Disco3 forums and spent at least three whole fruitless days messing about with SDD and a cloned Mongoose Pro cable, I'm forced to have to admit defeat, I cannot modify the CCF to allow the car to use the camera.

Is there anyone within a 50 mile radius of Selby, North Yorkshire, willing to activate the camera for me?
Obviously beer tokens will be in order

As the old story goes "I met a man in a pub" - this one suggested for LR work try this firm and just up the road from Selby. No idea how good at doing something like you want doing but you could ask for a fixed price quote.

I just purchased a 13 plate Freelander 2 TD4 XS facelift model, i have park assist (rear) but no camera fitted and would like to add one.

Any progress on this, I'm wanting to fit one to my 2013 dynamic, but all topics on reverse cameras are so confusing

Hi got no further really.
For some reason I cannot download the CCF from the car into SDD, keeps looping around when I select "Vehicle Configuration Management" in "Service Functions" but it say's executed next to run. I'm obviously dong something wrong.
Anyone offer ideas?

I spoke to another guy on here based in Australia who has managed to edit the code in their LR setup to enable the reversing camera.

I am awaiting further instructions from him.

Hi all

This is my first post and i hope someone can help me.
I am after the wiring diagram for the reversing camera. I have a 2013 dynamic. The screen switches to the reverse camera screen when in reverse, which shows the message please connect camera.
I take it from what i have found on this site all i will need is a camera unit and the fakra cable. I just need to find the connection point and the correct wires.
Hopfully this diagram will be the final piece before the install.
