Norway 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Stornoway Grey

Nice to see that my message started a lot of interest in Kautokeino. I will sort out the map location soon. Thanks also for warm welcome to the forum Very Happy Winter came late this year, appr 5-6 weeks ago, and we haven't had really cold temperatures yet (28 below celsius so far) so I haven't had the opportunity to test the car out in real arctic conditions. Everything has worked well so far though Smile We love the car! I've been in touch twice with LR Norway to straight out the questions about the auxiliary heater but only reached answering machines at the technical department Evil or Very Mad I've sent an e-mail today and hope I'll get a response soon. I'll keep you posted

I got a reply from LR Norway regading the auxiliary heater today and this is the status: The Webasto heater that is installed as a auxiliary heater can not currently be modified to work as a parking heater. However LR is working on a kit that will enable it to work as a parking engine heater. LR has not focused on a kit that also will make it possible to work as a parking interior heater Crying or Very sad

My experience is that it isn't the result since an engine heater doesn't heat the engine to the level that you will get instant heat from the vents. It certainly get the engine to working temperature a lot faster, but it will still get some time in say 20 below, and then again it will take quite some time to warm up the interior after you have the heat from the vents. I got a second e-mail from LR stating that they are working on a kit that will do both but it is from what I understand not prioritized. He also mentioned that he's not sure the kit will work with cars that are not prepared for it already from the factory

I understand , Im sure the heater would provide the heat needed in the UK but maybe not for your colder climate Thumbs Up At work

called into the dealership today to check any update on heater fix. They confirmed the fix has been found but they have now to prove to the 'ministary' that the fix works. LR have advises all dealers to say it will be available in February, but he thought it may actually be available in mid Jan. I hope that hes right, im freezing my Censored off! Freelander 2 XS 2.2 TD4 Met Black, with Winter pack, 18" alloys with General Grabber AT2 wellies, MANTEC Sump and Tank Guards

Posted on Forum topics:- Auxilary heater and Recall:- Contacted the dealer today. They confirm P014 is the PTC heater replacement instructions.

They can now order the part(s). As soon as the fix is logged on the LR database against your chassis no the dealer can go adead and fix it. If you get your letter first they can also fix it against that, but they need one of them to ensure they get their money back from LR.

My chassis is not listed yet so dealer suggests wait a week and call back or call in with letter. Freelander 2 XS 2.2 TD4 Met Black, with Winter pack, 18" alloys with General Grabber AT2 wellies, MANTEC Sump and Tank Guards

Just phoned local dealer (T&C Aberdeen) and the new heater will be available as of Thursday 18th.

I was told that it would take 2 1/2 hours for the new heater/electronics to be fitted.

Unfortunately due to prior commitments and being so close to Christmas, I can't get mine in until January Big Cry ______________________

Quote from P014:

"How long will it take?
The work will be carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to minimize
inconvenience to customers and is expected to take approximately 1 hour
although your dealer
may need your vehicle for a longer time due to service scheduling requirements."
