you can do the oil service and normal service yourself without a computer (OBDII interface).

Yeah but I can't reset the oil warning. That'll annoy me. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

This is a post I did some time ago......

This works for me

Oil Service Reset

found this on another site and it was the same procedure I used. took more like 1 min to reset rather than the 15 seconds for this guy

To switch off the service light in your MK6 or MK7 Transit: (worked for FL2 MY11 TD4)

1. Service it
2. Switch on ignition but don't start engine
3. Press Down Brake pedal and Throttle pedal fully, and hold till service light flashes this may take up to a minute, but usually about 15 seconds
4. Switch off igniton

Job Done

Well, that worked a treat. Oil changed and message cleared.

However I spotted a few questionable issues which I will post about separately.

Thanks again. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Ok nothing is ever simple. I don't know if I've overfilled the oil now. I drained the oil until nothing was coming out other than a tiny drip as the car was on ramps. Put in 5l, slowly, over about 10 mins or so.

I didn't change the filter.

Have taken it for a short run but the dipstick is confusing me. There is a murky brown level which is a touch above the max notch but for quite a distance up the dipstick, there seems to be a light smearing of new oil. The dipstick is very badly twisted (I've never used it until now so no idea how it got like that), so I don't know if the twisting making it harder to get in could cause this issue.

I know there will have been a little oil left in the filter which is why I didn't put in the 5.5l quoted above.

Any thoughts? FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

All dipsticks are twisted - that's how they're supposed to be even though it makes them hard to insert/withdraw.

That's odd. I've never seen a twisted dipstick in all the cars I've checked oil on. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

The dipstick is normal (twisted) park the car up overnight take the dipstick out give it a wipe, don't replace it, first thing tomorrow morning put the dipstick back in then take a true reading job done.

Level was still too high so drained a bit off and then topped it up a little and all is at a sensible level again.

PS
The youtube method for resetting the general service light to 365 days does work on the 2011 Freelander 2, also the Brazil method for the oil service light works a treat too, so I suspect anyone with this year should be able to sort them both, I can certainly vouch for both methods, the general service one says it is up to 2011 but it does still work. Regards
