Unexpected Oil Service Warning

My 2011 FL2 has just come up saying an oil service is required, visit dealer. Totally unexpected as it was fully serviced in November 2016 and has only done 6000 miles.

Is this something I should be concerned about or can I go about (attempting) changing it myself?

The car did have a fault a few months ago whereby there was some form of DPF issue but that was apparently sorted.

I scanned for errors, albeit with maybe not the best scanner but no errors were thrown up.

Cheers. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

If there was a DPF issue then the oil could well be diluted and needs changing asap!

Sump plug easy enough to get at ,filter a bit awkward but easier with a swivel head ring spanner which I think from memory is 27mm but am sure if it's not someone else will put me right!

Message will still need clearing. You could just change oil if diluted as filter should be fine unless someone fitted a real cheap crap filter last service. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Fair point, especially if I'm going to get it serviced in November as per usual anyway. No point making more work and cost for myself.

Other than oil do I still need the tank washer or whatever it is? FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Ok I have searched and searched and can't find the answer. How much oil do I need for the oil change?

Thanks. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Pretty sure it's 6.5 litres with the filter. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I'd suggest that warning comes with time, not dilution. Probably not reset at last service.

I have read that 1 is time based and the other is dilution based. But I've bought the oil so will do it this weekend. Better safe than sorry I guess. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Having said that, wouldn't hurt to change oil and filter but without an oil service reset I bet the warning would appear again. If you ghange the oil you would have peace of mind and not be risking your engine on my previous suggestion.

From my experience, the normal service warning is based on Kms (miles) but the oil service is locked on date.

Yeah, I will need to find someone to reset the warning. I am sure however the oil and service lights came on within a day or so of each other for the last services which were both in November. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
