Hi there I have sd4 HSE auto is there any way of releasing the gear stick from park to neutral if the engine will not run.

That's worth knowing, I was wondering if it was possible to move the car with the engine switched off but I presume you still need to have the key available. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Or, without key or ignition on, you open the hood, unhook the gearbox cable as it is very accesible and move the gearbox lever to desired position. Simple... |

If you lift off the gear lever surround, on the front of the lever assembly there is a plastic lever that you can push down if I recall correctly to allow the gear lever be moved with the electrics off. Can't currently remember whether it's red or yellow in colour. This is true on a 2011 model, anyway. |
