Whats the mileage on your car now bob? Have you owned it from new? If your miles are low and your cars been reliable I'd just keep what you have.

Yes, from new and cosseted. Miles are getting up at 55K, not had a car at these miles in years so it shows how much I am attached to these motors. No point in getting a high mileage Metropolis so it will cost quite a lot for the "Toys", hard to believe how much they are still going for.

Even the LR sales and service people locally admit the FL2 was far better than a new DS. Thud FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Metropolis = HSE LUX = better leather and reversing camera above HSE (or that's how I see it anyway)

I have the 2013 HSE which is totally factory standard. 825w HDD meridian system which includes DVD player and Nav. Heated steering wheel, humidity sensing climate, pan roof etc etc etc. More than enough toys and stuff to play with.

so have you thought about a 2013 onwards HSE spec? do you really want all the toys? (IMO the GS spec stereo unit and particularly the display just look cheap for the cost of the premium brand LR)

It seems to me, following your posts, that you have done everything to ensure that your current car has the best chance of a long and reliable life.
Unless you are really unhappy with what you have got or badly want the extra toys, why not keep what you have got?
What is the cost to change? it must be lot of ££££££'s

I look at mine which is now 5 years old and 75k miles. Give it a good clean and it is almost like new. If it was me I would keep it and spend the money on something else or just put it in the bank for a rainy day

I am thinking that I might keep mine another 5 years but get some sort of "toy" with what I save by not changing

Enjoy your quandary.........

Steve

mmmm have you answered your own question there Yorky ? Whistle

im the worst offender for swapping and changing my cars more often than I can shake a stick at.... however im not bad at giving advice to others to keep their motors for longer than 5 minutes Laughing

if your happy with the car you have, it does everything you want it to do and you know its history then just keep it.
Rather than having to go through the hassle of locating the right car for you (which you may already have anyway), haggling prices, unknown history even when approved used.. etc etc etc

Sounds like fitting a full set of black leather seats and door cards to refresh the inside and make wiping the mud off easier would work!
Complete interiors available for a few hundred quid online.
Done it to a few previous cars that were too good to risk selling for an unknown with more extras and it does make it feel like a different car!
