Window regulator - whats included please?

Hi All

I have a problem with the front passenger window at the moment whereby it only goes up and down in steps.
Reading this (very useful) forum I've decided it's the window regulator at fault despite "re calibrating" it several times.
I'm going to replace it from a breaker so my question is, what do I ask for?
Does the motor have the regulator built in or is it a separate unit within the door cavity/behind the door card?

Thanks in advance.... Thumbs Up

Mark

try using the global closing with the fob,ie hold fob door lock open button continuously car will unlock and,all windows should open, this will prove its regulator or not,if they all open smoothly then its the switch.hold fob lock button down with all windows open all windows will now close,

Frustrating possibly but if you can open and close the windows by holding the switch up or down why not live with it and save your brass for a real problem like a clutch or diff.

Thanks for the advice and I know it's only a little issue but it annoys me. Particularly as the kids often leave the windows open when leaving the car!
I'm kinda hoping the motor and regulator are one unit and the average breaker would sell the unit as one piece?
I guess I'll just need to do a bit of digging......

I can't tell from the picture above, but when I have done this job on previous cars the regulator and the motor have been separately purchasable items.

From your symptoms, I would strip it all down and inspect first. It may be that a clean, lube and reassemble will solve the problem and save you any expense. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Many thanks, I am tempted to strip and lubricate it as mentioned but I don't really want to be pulling it to pieces more than once. Who'd like to hazard a guess as to how many plastic clips I break removing the door card? Rolling Eyes
