I seem to recall when BT was testing wifi years ago at Adastral Park customer reception they used to find that Subaru cars wouldn't lock or wouldn't restart and I think they believed this was some interference from the wifi.

Hi guys thanks for the replies. This is my 3rd Freelander. Last 2 were perfect. This is the first one with the new tangled keyless start. Posted here today waiting for Land Rover assist to arrive, again. Tried one last time, same thing. No start. Got a call on my mobile, kept my foot on the brake absent mindedly whist I took the call. About 10 15 seconds later the car started on its own!!!! Home now will be ringing Slough Land Rover tomorrow.

What did LR diagnose as the fault of this? It happened to me this morning for the first time.

1st time - insert fob, brake in, push button, nothing. removed fob and re-inserted. pushed brake and button, started fine.

2nd time - same as above.

3rd time - insert fob, pushed brake, pushed button, left brake depressed, few seconds later started with no problem.

then switched off, next start was fine, no issues.

curious about this issue. Confused

South Africa 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

Hello all

I have a 2008, diesel, auto.

Yesterday I drove to work, ran a few errands (short trips) during the day and when I went to the car to drive home:

Inserted fob, all lights came on as usual, hit the start button and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

No clicking, no noises just nothing.
Tried for around an hour and then gave up.

Got the vehicle towed to the dealers this morning and as of this afternoon they still dont know what is the cause. They are taking out the starter motor to bench test it.

If anyone had any further info regarding the issues above please share as it seems this is getting more common. Freelander 2 SE 2008

Start Button failures are known.

I always hold mine down rather than just poke it. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Cheers Yorky Bob.

I will let them know about the button however I was trying to push the damn thing into the engine bay when trying to start it so I dont think that is my problem.

Its very irritating - its the most amazing and capable vehicle - the build quality of my 2008 model is way better than 2017 versions of other manufacturers.

However if the Censored thing wont start, its a complete Censored up!!! Freelander 2 SE 2008

Thanks Johanlr2
Mine turned out to be the starter motor.
I replaced with a new one and am going to see if I can get the old one reconditioned.

Luckily she is back to being 100% now. Freelander 2 SE 2008

Battery isolator

Hi what part of the circuit needs to be isolated .if you could cut out just a small section it would reduce the cable size needed.would you put the isolater on the earth cable side ?

My 58 S has random start problems goes months operating normally .then the start sequence won't complete

Normally it will eventually start ...checking I have handbrake on in P etcto pass the time. After 50 odd attempts ..battery reboot I turned DSC off and on again ..hey presto it started . No IDEA why ..anyway I'ved loved having it went where my SWB shogun went no bother
.but that's my LR itch scratched..
