So it would appear that LR assist now give hire cars instead of pool cars. I found this out today when they arranged for a replacement car. I would have thought this would have been communicated better as it was a bit of a shock.

Still badly arranged 2 people turned up for me at Guy Salmon Stockport

I was told I am getting a RR Evoque, 1st guy turns up with Disco Sport but when I'm signing paperwork it's not in my name. Then a knock on the window 2nd guy asked my name and said I have a RR Evoque for you so great jump out one car and walk to the other. It's a brand new delivery mileage RR Vogue not Evoque all in my name so after all the messing and leaving late to pickup my son I get a call to say they have given me the wrong car and request I bring it straight back to the dealership.

Told them the truth, picked my son up from nursary and now need to feed him, bath him and get him to bed so no I've not got time. Then told they would come to me, told them this is not acceptable as I'm looking after my son and that it was not my problem so they can sort it out tomorrow. Their reply was to just keep it! Result!!

I somehow think that they might come and get it back as it will be costing them or LRA a fortune considering Guy Salmon originally quoted 8 weeks for a repair but as it's a safety issue LRA could deal with it faster.

8 weeks what are they doing stripping it down and rebuilding it a 100 times? Common sense isn't very common.

I had no problems with LR Assist in the 4 occasions I had to use them recently with my Evoque (long story)

the first 3 occasions I had LR Assist pool cars, as the dealership luckily had a LRA car available. On the final occasion there was no LRA assist car available so they arranged for a hire car to be bought down from Sheffield to Doncaster, advised 2 hour wait, they were with me at the dealership in 1 hour. Brand new RRS, handover took 10 mins and the guys were excellent helping me check it over. (I had a nearly new LRA Jaguar XE AWD RSport for a month over xmas, LRA didn't once push for it back)

Personally I cant fault LRA in any way shape or form.

Seeing your from Glossop which dealership have you taken the car to ? Please tell me its not Chesterfield as they were the cause of all my Evoque troubles

I called Land Rover Assist out this week for what turned out to be a failed oil pump in my Haldex.

A technician attended at my home address within 2 hours. Fault diagnosed, booked into the dealership.

I took the F2 to the garage, and was met by a representative from Thrifty Car Hire who handed me the keys to a brand new Discovery Sport HSE with 9 miles on the clock. Under the LR extended warranty, the loan car is for only 2 days, but the dealership keeps extending the hire for me until the car is repaired.

I'm impressed with the service to say the least. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

JLR will not be paying Guy Salmon anywhere near the rates you would pay, I suspect that there is an agreement whereby the cars are leased from JLR and will be replaced in either 6 months or about 6K miles whichever becomes sooner and this includes supply of assist cars. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I have had a string of Evoques, Discos, Jaguar etc from LR Assist but they did call me one time most apologetically to say that all they could find was a Mitsubishi Shogun and was that OK? When I got to the dealers it was parked around the back well out of sight. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

By comparison my son has a VW Toureg under warranty which developed an oil leak they charged him £85 to look at it and then after a lot of hassle agreed that it would be fixed under warranty. It was an engine out job so took a few days but all he got was a used VW Polo as a loan car. I must say that LR are very good with this sort of thing and it was one consideration when I changed the car recently. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

LRA are good it's just the messing about sometime caused by the stealers that's the problem.

I've got no complaint have the RR Vogue hopefully I don't get my car back for a while as it's getting better MPG
