Hi all,

I have a rattle/creak in my back seat catch area (passenger side) which is getting worse and driving me mad!

It happens at all speeds, even at very slow speeds as I reverse off my drive, almost as if even a slight flex of the car causes it. If I shake the rear seat back and fore I can more-or-less replicate it but it's a mixture of a rattle sound and a creak and difficult to pinpoint.

If I drive the car with the passenger side rear seat folded down the sound goes away so I'm suspecting the seat catch. Does anyone have experience of a rattle or creak in this area? Can the catch be tightenened up somehow? It's in the seat itself so not sure how to get at it without taking the uphostery off?

On a Toyota I had a rattle on the rear seat catch I glued some strong plastic tube on the metal rod it locates on and gave it a good slam,it didn't get moved very often and was OK after that.

I had a similar rattle in the first year of ownership. I raised it at the first service and the dealer said he just tightened the catch and it has been fine ever since.

I had exactly this with my first FL2, as you have suspected it is the seat back catch rattling in the steel hoop that it locks into, I wound a small piece of duct tape round the steel hoop and never had the problem again.
