I got mine from Europarts 85 amp exactly the same size

I can't recall an extra earthing strap, Is there a specific item, location to fit? |

Yes there's a long thread on here about it,I got mine a good thick cable from EBay it goes from battery earth to alternator bolt and cures lots of problems it seems especially on cars around the age of yours and mine. |

my 2011 td4 has a cable from the battery box directly to the to the starter motor bolt.

Just noticed that for a split second prior to the "transmission fault traction reduced" message, a message stating "special programmes off"is displayed. Any further thoughts? |

All part of the same fault. I had that recently on mine and it was the pump motor at fault, I managed to get the motor casing off far enough to get to the brushes, gave them a bit of a clean up and reassembled it, been ok ever since |
