Could it be a fuse problem

Hi, I have a problem with my audio controls on my 07 SE freelander 2.
They have just stopped working and i cannot find out why. Does anyone know if there is a fuse for these controls and if there is where and which one is it.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi Dick

Which controls do you mean, the ones on the steering wheel or the ones on the fascia panel?

It's the ones on the steering wheel. The volume up works but not volume down. same with the other 2 buttons, one part works one part does not. It'sbaffling me!!

Quite possibly due to bad connections on the wiring/plugs on the circuitry within the steering wheel, you need to remove the airbag to get to them, I had the same fault on my Disco 3, I unplugged and then re-fitted the connectors under there and had no further problems with it.

if it were a fuse problem, and I think NOT, somewhere something must be drawing more current than designed for ........ so even if you replaced the fuse, you would not be solving the problem.

I agree with the above ..... look at the squb .....

Definitely not a fuse, it's all on the low voltage control side, if a fuse were blown loads of other controls wouldn't work either.

Nope, I done nothing to it but it seemed to fix itself. Now just occasionally it does it again. Lasts a few days then works again so i just assume it's a bad connection somewhere. Doesn't happen often enough to warrent looking at all the connections

Great thanks

Mine went funny last year in the hot summer and then fixed itself and now it doesn't work again. Not sure if its worth the bother of wheel removal at my garage to have a look ? Might be dead easy for them. I'll ask next time I'm in and weigh up the pros and cons

Thanks
