2010/10 model FL2

Opened car with remote as normal drove off doors auto locked.

Got to work went to get out and drivers door would not open from the inside,from the remote,from the dash board switch or from the outside handle so I am assuming the door is dead locked.

All other doors work as normal.

There is a thread with the same issues but doesn't look like it was resolved?

Can anyone shed light on how to open the door.

Any help much appreciated.

For some obscure reason the manual unlock procedure is based only on the front passenger door on UK vehicles. There is a control module in the door that probably needs replacing, I had the same on a rear, it cost about £80 and Labour. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

If I could get access to the lock I could change it myself it's just getting the door open.
No chance of removing the trim panel in situ as there is a screw in the side panel hidden when door is shut and from memory front part of trim is up against dash.
Thought about removing outer glass seal and having a look but outer seal is held in with fixing on inside edge of door frame which again when shut is hidden by B post...
Had a vw Passat which dead locked on rear door managed to remove trim in situ on that and de-activate dead locking on lock.

Must be a way as local ind specialist has quoted me £300 with part...

In your situation first I would spray with freeing spray down side of glass and anywhere else you can and go over a few bumps at speed - no idea it it will work but got to be worth a try.

If no one has any really bright way of doing it possibly go down the route of getting in to lock via door card and replacing card once lock sorted.

check the fuses in the boot. There is one for each door locking module (25A). Unlikely to have blown without a significant fault but worth a look.. FA1 & 2. 1978 Laverda Jota. Stolen...

I,ll have a look but wouldn't that stop windows working aswell?

I,m sure I can hear the lock making a faint noise when remote/dash switch is operated...

Just need to get door open and I don't really want to go down the route of destroying the door card?

I may be wrong here but I believe the when auto locking when driving away, the deadlocking feature isn't implemented, the doors are merely locked. I had a similar issue on a Range Rover (P38) and I could pull the the widow seal at the bottom of the glass towards me to be able to see down in to the door and in turn the door locking mechanism, from here I could pull up the locking bar and open the door, not sure if you can do that on the FL2 but could be worth a try.

I,ll try pulling seal back just looks really tight on glass...can't remove it as fixed with screw on inside frame hidden by B post...

You do this from outside the vehicle, should have stated that, it is tight but use a torch to shine down in to the door and you should see the locking mechanism

Although from a Range Rover the principal may work the same.

Did see that post didn't want to start banging at it not knowing exact place to hit it.
From what I gather there are two motors one to lock and unlock and one to dead lock...
Knowing my luck I,ll damage lock and still not be able to open it...
There must be a way and LR must have come across this, someone must know/come across this.

I never had the use the hammer and screwdriver method, I found I could flick the lever up that opened the door, mine turned out to be a faulty cable that led from the interior door handle to the lock, didn't find that out until after I had replaced the mechanism though.

If the dealer can get in without damage then there is no reason you can't do the same, just take your time and try to asses what your looking at before you do anything
