I will bring the head unit with me when I go to collect the car seats today. Would like the new one back as it wasn't cheap. Question is who removes it. Car can't leave the garage and I'm concerned if I do it, I crack a clip or something and then they get difficult. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

They could remove it at their discretion if they wish and it is probably in their interests to do so if they go on to sell the car. Ultimately the unit is your responsibility so they might just say you sort it or get someone to come along with you to help. It's your property of course. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

It all seems a bit extreme for something that could be a relatively minor fault... |

You're right, it might be minor, but the error codes said there were multiple cylinder misfires and something to do with a catalytic converter issue.

You have to do what you feel is right for you, I'm sure we have all lost confidence in a vehicle for one reason or another, normally this is after a few years of ownership/issues. Eventually we sell that vehicle on and move on to the next, that normally restores the faith for a while. |

0k, the Glasgow branch are apparently waiting on a report from the Edinburgh branch on what is wrong with the car and whether or not the fault was there when they sold it.

For you, no not really, it's for the garage to "prove" that the fault was not there when they sold it to you as the fault occurred within the first 6 months of ownership. The Doctor can give a more precise term I'm sure.

I just phoned him back and assured him that the only relevant point is that the fault occurred within 30 days of us buying the car, not whether it was there when they sold it. He agreed then changed his tune and said he needs a report to show that the car hasn't been involved in anything.

Garage phoned back to say issue was a faulty coil pack which has been replaced and was no big issue and asked if we still wanted to return the vehicle. I've said yes as we have already made the decision.

At least now the garage know you are still deciding to return the vehicle, did they give you a timescale for the refund? |

Garage has called and said they will do the refund. However they need the V5 to do so and we don't have it yet FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

I take it they sent that off on your behalf when you purchased? Do you have the V5C/2 section?
