Drivers door won't open

Hi all. I hope you guys can shed some light on this problem.

Dropped the fl2 off at the station to head into work. This even, went to unlock via the key fob and the drivers door wouldn't open. All other doors are fine. Had to go through the passengers seat so I could drive the dam thing. Tried unlocking from inside and it's a no show. The button to unlock didn't do anything either. Had a look at the FA1 fuse and it's fine.
How can I get this open or how would they normally get this open to fix the issue? It's a safety issue if I crash and they can't get in but I need to drive.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Rion

I take it you could open the door from the inside to exit from the drivers door, and it was the button in the center of the dash that also failed to open the door?

Sounds like the drivers door is "deadlocked".
So if when you locked the car you activated the "deadlock" feature and for whatever reason the lock has failed on drivers door and left the door in the deadlocked state.
Sounds like you need a new locking mechanism. MY15

+1 for what StuartC said... lock mechanism has failed and unfortunately left in the deadlocked state. plenty of threads on here about changing door locks yourself if you fancy a go.

24 hours and a drop of luck

If you have 24 hours to spare maybe worth a try to get WD40 or lubricant spray with tube. Find all the places you can to push tube into door near lock and give it plenty (you could spray down window void as well). Leave to soak and see if free's off. Drive down a rocky road as well to give it a good shake. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
