Having searched the forum it seems all key fob posts are about the docking type, mine is the later leave in your pocket key fob. I assume they have a non rechargable battery?, how long do they last? easy to replace?
also the fob has the famous falling apart outer silicon cover. when it comes to battery change time should i buy a new uncoded key fob and just replace the internals ?

The car tells you when the battery is low. 2.97 volts on multimeter.

Had cover issues with mine & they were replaced by LR, no harm in asking them. The car maybe out of warranty but it is unreasonable that they fall apart within a non expected period of the life of the car. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

New key fobs have been covered, it all in here.

CX2032 batteries that are 2 minute job to change and new key fob is Key Fob Cover LR059382 and were available for less than a tenner on flea bay once, a bit more fiddly to change but easy enough. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

agreed yorky bob it is all covered but for the life of me i couldn't in my work dinnertime find any mention of the non rechargeable ones
