Had another good few days away, Freelander did tow nice and easy but still cant get over mpg, 60 mph on motorway going and gave it some stick, nursed it coming home but no better.

My MY2010 normal driving returns 39 to 40 MPG, I get around 32ish towing a 1400kg Bailey Pegasus GT65.

Just spent a week in Pevensey then a week in Derbyshire and I don't hang about, usually at or very near legal limit most of the time, honest officer!  MY2014 SD4 XS

Incidentally guys n gals

I have just fitted a refillable GASIT bottle in the caravan, so if anyone wants to save themselves the £60 odd quid for a calor contract, I have an empty 6kg propane bottle going free to anyone who cares to collect it.  MY2014 SD4 XS

Same here. Only get 26-ish with my Bailey Pageant Loire, approx 1200kg, and I drive extremely carefully.

Hi Trev

Well I just drive! on my trip from Pevensey to Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire I averaged 32.2mpg, that is of course, according to the on board computer. The mileage trip was reset on leaving the M25 (well no-one can get 32 sitting in the biggest car park on tickover), I set the cruise control to 60 (admittedly in 5th all the way as 6th is just to high geared for 60 with a ton and half on the back) and sat on the M1 all the way from the M25 onward to J29 and hey presto, 32.2.

Admittedly traffic was fairly light with no queuing traffic so was able to maintain 60 all the way.  MY2014 SD4 XS

Only had my 2007 SE for 3 weeks. Just took it and the caravan Lunar Quasar 615 (1450kg) to stay near Maidenhead/Slough as a base for theme parks and London. A bit disappointed with avg 27 mpg, over the week. Due to slow motorways and local diving, avg mph was only 30. Did notice that 6th was drinking more fuel than 5th on cruise. Will remember that next time.
