From previous experience if there is an egr fault logged 9 out of 10 times that's your problem. This is applicable to all makes of car. Such a problematic system. |

Haha! Swings and roundabouts really. Can't see a Subaru boxer type engine doing a zillion miles either. They wear down heavily on the lower side of the cylinder and before you know it you have the dreaded fault code miss fire cylinder 2 and 4. All modern day cars have there quirks I suppose.

hi paxman, my last freelander had done 170k, i bought it at 125k from a garage in wolverhampton so i didnt know a lot about the cars history, it was an 07 reg gs model in tango orange. apart from regular service and new discs and pads i didnt spend a penny on it until i let it go at 170k. never had a problem with the egr. is the egr more of a problem for cars that have a dpf fitted. i have just fitted a replacement egr and cooler to my 12 reg freelander. |
