Strange rear window discoloration

Hi all, noticed the other day that my rear window has some strange lines appearing all around the edge and seems to be discoloured.

No sign of leaks after testing. Any idea what it is / how to fix it?

Is it after market window tinting? Is it starting to come away from the glass. Just a thought. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

you sometime see milky white discolouration round the edges of front windscreens, which is due to de lamination of the glass where the inside and outside of the glass are separating and moisture gets in (laminated windscreens are 2 pieces of glass stuck together with a plastic film inbetween, this why you can have crack all the way across the screen but it wont cave in)

side windows are toughened glass, so treated during manufacture, and this is why they shatter into chunks when broken.

I think the rear windows are also laminated so it could be de-lamination. Choices are to live with it if its not leaking or have new glass fitted.

If the rear isn't laminated, and its tinting film (as opposed to tint dipped at factory) then it could be the film is coming away

Nothing to do with tinting, either factory or aftermarket or delamination. It's simply the bonding material used to bond the glass to the body, this case rear hatch. After time extreme weather temperatures can cause the bonding material to leach through the blackened out part of the screen. Simply cosmetic.
Just open rear hatch and look down side between glass and hatch chassis, you will see the black
Bonding material.

So this is just simply the windows bonding adhesive eating away at the factory window tint over time.

I guess only a new rear window would fix this issue.

Although.... if you look at the base of the picture I uploaded you can see the bottom of the window also has the strange discolouration which is where I would guess there isn't any bonding material.

This is a factory fitted screen and the original one.

The screen is bonded around the whole circumference. It's a 100% complete seal, well should be otherwise it would leak!
Only way to fix is to change screen. MY15
