Interesting idea but I assume the engine has to be a dry sump design and all you're doing is, effectively, changing the oil tank. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

I wouldn't be happy about not changing the filter but it could be useful for a 6 monthly just oil change in between. |

My guess is that the filter in the Nexcel system is in the cartridge. The whole car would have to be designed from the start to use that system. It's not a retrofit. Can't be because in most cars there wouldn't be enough spare space under the bonnet. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

As for sucking the oil out....................what's wrong with the drain plug? AND...you wouldn't get any sludge or metal particles out by sucking it out the top. I'd ever use that method. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

Just done my lads Mini One yesterday via the suction method, pipe goes all the way to the bottom of the sump, no scrabbling about underneath removing under trays where the bolts have seized, no sump plug to remove. LR dealers seem to always charge a £ or so for a new sump plug washer yet no sign of the under tray being removed p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |
