I've had a 2013 SD4 for 3 months now and I've noticed the hesitation, my old TD4 manual hesitated at times. Somewhere on the forum is a post about SD4's that jerked when setting off, mine does this very occasionally. The answer was that there is a software update for the gearbox and I think this covered hesitation aswell. I've noticed the hesitation seems to occur when setting off from a stationary position, if the car is allowed to creep forward from stationary position then the gas is applied then there is no hesitation. This is the software update mentioned on another thread. I'm sure the other thread mentioned hesitation.

On SD4 six speed Evoques, there was an update that cured the hesitation problem. Made the gearchanges a lot smoother and gave a couple of more MPG. Mine had it done when it went in for a routine service and was very noticeable afterwards. Don't know if it applies to the late FL2's but may be worth asking your dealer about it. Try searching out Q585 campaign update on the 'net.

Thanks for replies. Mine hesitates intermittently when pulling away from rest. Interestingly, I expected better fuel consumption as well - published figures suggest 40mpg combined - I'm lucky to get just over 30 mpg and I do drive conservatively.

When it comes to software updates (particularly here as there seems to be 2 or 3 mentioned) does a new update replace the previous version or could it be that the dealer/indy need to do more than one update the fix an issue? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
