That isntb cushdrive, it's just a silly damper ring that was fitted around the outside of the flange. No idea why it was fitted as car drives no different without it, and all it does is make removing prop and haldex a pain in the ass. The input flange is actually on the haldex not the diff. The diff and the haldex are identical. www.bellengineering.co.uk

Did you buy a diff from me? I didn't sell anyone a bearing and seal kit.

It's not the larger bearing then. If it is it won't fit your diff www.bellengineering.co.uk

Give me a call, it will be far easier to talk through it with you. I have only seen diffs with 2013/14 manufacture dates that take the larger bearing kit as standard. All diffs with 06-12 dates use the smaller bearing. There is a so called "harder" bearing, but this is the same size and I'm yet to believe the bearing is any harder than a top quality Timken bearing www.bellengineering.co.uk

Pretty certain I've got the whining rear diff but can anyone advise if there's any way to tell for sure?

Good shout but yes, I was able to swap all 4 out at the weekend for a test. The sound I would compare to the hum you get on a fast train from the tracks. Sounds pretty much like a wheel bearing to me, hence my caution to jump in prematurely on the diff!

Well ... I spoke too soon ... 1500 miles later ... juddering again .... and car out of warranty I'm fed up with this situation ... and don't know what to think. What could wreck the haldex after a short mileage ? |

Were these replacements undertaken by the main LR dealer? |

It's hard to believe that you could get through 3 Haldex units because they were all somehow faulty. This sounds more like a fitting problem to me. Could it even be a software issue causing failure. Have the garage ever done one of these satisfactorily for anyone else? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
