Keyless entry?

Hi. We've just bought a 2014 SD4 HSE and after 6 years of keyless entry with a Volvo V50, having to lock / unlock the car is driving us mad. First world problems, I know. Any solutions out there or is it just hard luck?

Employ a flunky to carry the key and lock/unlock for you, problem solved. Or you could take the doors off Razz FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Someone used this keyless entry method on our car. All they took was an E-Tag!

On a technical note.....its possible to retrofit, you need to change both front door handles to RRS equivalent (same as (L359) ones with unlock button, both front door modules and either new harnesses or just extra wiring for door lock micro switches. You will also need to activate in CCF, there is from memory 3 fields which require changing.
The problem being and the reason I stopped going ahead is that there is security procedures in place ever since Land Rover went through a spat of their vehicles being scanned and stolen. So if I activate the "keyless entry" feature in the ccf there is a high probability that the car will be disabled as I don't have the security procedure.
I'm pretty sure the vehicle had to be remotely connected to LR technical to have the keys authorized or something along those lines. MY15

If you have just bought it and this is your only issue then you are obviously unprepared for LandRover ownership. Very Happy 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

If we are already on the subject of taking parts from the 2014 and put it in the old models, what about instrument cluster? how hard will it be to swap from the analog look of 2008 to the more up-to-date look?

The IPC is the backup for the CJB, as well as containing the complete backup copy of the CCF. As well as there being considerable electrical differences between pre/post MY13 there is also security measures in place to prevent IPC's being changed out.
In short not impossible but only because i don't like saying anything is impossible. Given infinite time and resources it can be done. Certainly not "plug & play". MY15

Thanks for the constructive advice Stuart.
