me and the kids have fun speaking to the car trying it to actually work. hours of happy motoring. only on that reliably works is 'navigation zoom in- but then it refuses to zoom out At work

I can't answer you question directly as I have the later model, I suggest you refer the owners manual for your MY. I was unaware of any voice command system prior to MY13.
