CD player not working

Hi, my kids managed to jam something in the CD player on my 2009 fr2 GS And although I managed to fish the object out the CD player hasn't worked since, it just makes a whirring noise then ejects the CD.
Is it easy to take the console out to inspect or repair ? Any advice greatly received. tia

Thanks for this , tried as you suggested but to no avail. Fuse on mine seems to be in passenger footwell (poverty spec GS model with basic cd/radio). will try and pull out centre console next.

Hi, quick update on cd player fix. I managed to source an identical cd/radio to my broken one on the bay for £100. After fitting I popped a cd in and it worked a treat.........for about 60 seconds then a warning came up of " invalid vin no. " and it stopped playing Grrrrr.
Undeterred and being £100 down I set about taking the console apart again and this time took the cd player portion out of the replacement unit and fitted it in place of the broken unit from the original car .
This time it worked perfectly and the car is now 100% .
