I know this is risking fate but.......
My last 5 vehicles have all done over 115,000 miles, 2 were at 135,000, and all on original clutches.
I am sure the life of a clutch/engine/brakes is dependent on how the vehicle is driven.
I was taught to double declutch when changing down to keep engine and gearbox revs balanced.
These days people are taught to brake, change down a gear (often with a lurch when gearbox catches up with engine) and use the engine like a brake!
And of course if you scream up to a corner/junction, brake, slam it down a gear (or 2 sometimes) you are adding all sorts of strains on the components. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

clutch life will depend hugely on how it's driven & where. In town or off road with lots of starts & slipping it will be far less than a car that lives on the motorway, although with congestion as it is, that's not always true these days. Sad
Never hold a car on the clutch when stationary, it should be a criminal offence.

Yep really... manual clutches/flywheels/slave cylinders are not a good point on the FL2 and at 90k hes done better than some. Mine went on 5 year old 07 plate with 95k and a 6 year old 08 plate with 66k. Mostly motorway driving so not me riding the clutch before I get slated Very Happy


@rnlisg.... mine cost me around £800 at an indy for a new clutch, flywheel and slave cynlinder

Thanks for that,i got in touch with "boringoldgit)site sponsor,he had a feeling it could be the dmf,with forum discount he quoted just over £300 for the whole kit inc dmf/slave cylinder, seems an excellent price Thumbs Up
I also (for a laugh)phoned local stealer for a quote but did not want to take out a mortgage Big Cry surprisingly I contacted RCV who I know of not too far away and have a very good reputation,but even they quoted over £1200!!which for an indy was not far short of a stealers price.a bit surprised by that.

the parts required are relatively cheap even for decent quality ones. Its the labour charges for removal and refit of the gearbox and clutch assembly that cost, hence why the main dealers are £1300+

I know its a big hit to take but at least you know its good for another 90k miles, maybe more.
