I blanked off EGRs in late models ( 2012 and 2013) Freelanders and a 2013 2.2 Evoque without issues. All these cars have DPF fitted |

LR guy didn't mention DPF, so maybe just a software mod required? |

I have just fitted the EGR blanking plate on my 2013 Freelander TD4 without any issues, I used the one with the hole pre drilled so I guess that technically it is a restrictor rather than a full blank

Hi I note your pole I'e 80/20 for fitting can we do it by the age of the freelander as that seems to be the main factor. |

Have run with blank for about a year/10,000 miles. No apparent benefit. Now removed. No noticeable difference. Bob 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone) 08 FL2 TD4 SE Manual in Rimini Red (Now Gone) |

Would not expect difference IF the EGR is working properly. If the valve sticks open then there is a marked decline in performance, which a blank will correct. When I blanked the EGR on my TD5 I found that the engine took longer to warm up - this might account for poorer MPG if you do short journeys. The difference in performance on my TD5 was massive, but clearly there was a problem with the EGR on that engine. I was beginning to suspect similar on my SD4 (top speed down from 130 to around 115) but didn't investigate further as I traded it in. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Understood. However, I don't have a driveway long enough to do 115 MPH in.
