I plan to replace the front crankshaft oilseal when doing my cambelt. Has anyone here done it on this diesel engine? I'm hoping there are no unexpected issues removing the old one. Is it a conventional single lipped seal with room to get a pulling tool between it & the shaft? The manual shows it being removed with a hook tool apparently via a hole drilled in the case of the seal. All/any advise welcome. |

Thanks JGH99, so both manuals suggest this method. One with the LR tool & the other using screws.

My dealer changed this seal under extended warranty. Hardest job I believe is undoing the crank pulley bolt. Must fit the starter ring lock in place & have a really long breaker bar or impact driver.

Only one seal looking at the diagram and only one mentioned in manual.
