Baby seat advice

Bought a Recaro Privia car seat with isofix base for our soon to hatch baby.

Put it into freelancer 2 but the seat sits uncomfortably angled

The way the ISO fix base sits is at an angle rather than flat. Took the seat to mothercare for there opinion and they said it was too steep an angle.

What baby seats have any of you used successfully? Freelander 2 LE Sport - Largo Grey

I got a cybex sirona for mine. Fits really well in the freely, plus you won't need to buy another in a few months 👍🏻

We've got two Maxi cosy 2 way family base, one with a pearl one with a pebble, both reward facing. Excellent fit, although it would be handy if the the fl had the insert guides like the 16my evoque. Oddly it's a better fit than in the range rover, the evoque and dsport, I guess that's progress.

The fitment in the freelander (and the fact I can get comfortable in front of the rear facing seat) was one of the main buying factors in getting the freelander.

Thanks for suggestions.

Will take a look at the Maxi Cosi tomorrow, The Recaro one really sits to high up.

The Freelander rear seats sit at quite a steep angle. Freelander 2 LE Sport - Largo Grey

Still not good. Went to halfords and man was really helpful and did lots of research for me.

But angle of the seat really does not make for a good seating for a newborn with isofix. Even the maxi cosi with the adjustable base was not ideal. Does anyone know if this is a problem with all freelander 2's or just with the LE sport version? The same problem seems to be common on some BMWs and Golfs too.

Going to see land rover Cheltenham tomorrow and see what they recommend.

Any more recommendations from you all would be greatly appreciated. . . . Freelander 2 LE Sport - Largo Grey

Other than the stripe, are the rear seats significantly different on the LE?

What do you perceive the problem to be? Both the Pearl and the Pebble have rocking seats. If the forward most edge of the base is too high then you should be able to counter this by rocking the seat.

Have you opened the base of the seat and had a look at the ISOFIX brackets to make sure they are fitted correct and not damaged (they're pretty solid and I dont think they can be miss fitted, but worth a check).

Our local Mothercare where very good when it came to seats, they let us try loads of them and refused to sell us one model as they deemed the fit to be incorrect.

Maxi Cosi do not recommend fitting of their seats into a Seat Cupra because of the shape of the seat, but the Seat Leon is just fine (same car, different trim). Their tech support is meant to be good, you can take a couple of pictures and email them and they will give you a thumbs up or thumbs down.

That's just the thing Vanny.

Mothercare have been great. They have failed the Recaro seat for sure as its too upright. And the Pebble and Cabrio Maxi Cosi they are also unhappy with, while not as bad as the Recaro, it is still not ideal.

Will get a picture of the rear seats and see if they look any different to non LE. I doubt it but worth a look. Freelander 2 LE Sport - Largo Grey

We used a Jané Strata for the sproglet, but that was never fitted in the Freelander, but the wife's Honda Civic and Hyundai IX35. I have just dug it out the loft and fitted it to my car, see rather crappy iPad picture. I had a quick look on the Website but couldn't see the seat and vehicle fitting chart.

We used the Strata seat with the Trider three wheel buggy, which was good for walks around the fields as it has big wheels compared to some sprog trollies, and more importantly for me, as I am 6'1", there isn't a back axle to kick whilst pushing it.

Hello I was just wandering if you got a seat to fit the fl2?? I am not in the situation you have been in. Went to mother care and they said the same.

We had the Silver Cross Simplicity car seat and isofix base in our FL2 and it was great, we've just this week bought the Joie spin 360 as my daughter has outgrown the Silver Cross seat and it is a great fit too! Just need to sell the Silver Cross set now to get some money back on the price of the Joie one! 😳 Car seats are ruining my bank account 😂
