Do you have the original battery from 2009? If you do that will be the start of the problems. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Yes it's the original battery the fl2 has not been used much over the last month due to the holiday period and the rear diff noise (still waiting for LR on that) I have CTEK with plug that would push into an aux socket to try and give the battery a boost.

Double check some time later that you actually have power. After about 10 minutes on the MY13 the 12 volt sockets are switched off.

I always replace the car battery every 4 years as that if their effective life whether used or not. It's not worth the inconvenience in the rain late one night when other half is going to rip your head off. Car batteries after 4 years are on borrowed time.

My wife's Peugeot has a 10 year old battery in it (it's date stamped). Every winter I expect it to pack up but it just goes on. Is this a record? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Probably not!

It boils down to how much the inconvenience of a stuffed battery is going to ruin your day. A new replacement battery amortised over 4 or 5 years is cheap peace of mind. Keeping it a few more years is not going to save you much, but will certainly involve 'Murphy'! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
