Car was fine until new tyre fitted and then after 20 miles along dual carriageway I had these faults appear. Stopped car and left it for 3 hours only for fault to appear after 4 miles. Would this have anything to do with a tyre sensor although I didn't think they were operational?

Possibility the tyre fitter has dislodged the ABS sensor or the connector/cable damaged.

Is that the sensor that is attached to the wheel rim which can be damaged when they remove or fit the tyres?

They actually changed all 4 tyres. I hadn't noticed my op only said tyre and not tyres

Listen up guys and gals this could be really helpful.

I took my car back to the tyre fitters, who spent quite a while taking the wheels off again and thoroughly going over the vehicle to find a fault. It took them 6 hours but this is what they found.

The front right ABS sensor senses movement from the wheel bearing or something like that, and the wheel bearing was either moving when it shouldn't or not moving when it should.
So, instead of just replacing the wheel bearing they replaced the whole hub (?), the bit that the wheel pivots on when you steer, including the bearing and to my knowledge it was a genuine land rover part. The cost for the whole job including labour, £220 + vat.

Now I think that's pretty reasonable and wonder if that could the be the cause of some other LR owners problems when they have had the same warnings on the screen.

I apologise if I haven't quite got the facts 100% correct but it was something like that and was considerably cheaper than what I had feared.

Yes, I think they replace the whole unit as it is easier and probably quicker than extracting and replacing the bearing.
Had a noisy bearing a few months back - £212.00 inc vat but then they did not spend 6 hours on it!

Intriguing though that the bearing problem only showed up after the wheels were removed and replaced. It's as if the shock of the nut runner gun may have been the final straw. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
