I run GG ATs on my Disco 2, very impressed with them, hardly seem to wear at all. Had AT2s fitted before that which were also excellent.

Proof of the pudding etc....The arctic blast that crossed central Italy a few days ago left some great testing conditions for my new tyres, Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme S, fitted a month or so ago. We have to negotiate a tight S bend up a dirt track hill, about 1 in 3, each time we leave the house. Short, but no run up possible, max 5 mph. Last year when it snowed I needed chains on the front wheels to get up it. The Vredesteins just ate it up yesterday all by themselves, with hardly a slip. Recommended . |

They look like ones we use on MANN support vehicles (daf and bedfords in the old days).

My Cross Climates are quiet and hold her on the road really well but it will be a long time before I see if they really do last longer as the upfront cost compared to some others is quite steep. Still waiting to try them on snow. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I had tyre choice issues when trying to find some 235-55-19. In the end I bought 4 new Goodyear Wranglers, that was back in about Nov 2015. They have covered about 25k so far (granted it is mainly motorway driving I do) and still have plenty of tread.

You may change your mind when the Wranglers start to get noisy at around 4mm tread. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Got Vredestein Winter tyres on my wife's Merc SLK 200 on nice but smaller 17" alloys, they are M&S rated. Can fault them but they need to come off in Summer when the 18" AMG wheels go back on.

Yes, I've kept my Vredesteins on all year but I don't do many kms in a year. I believe that Vredestein have a relatively hard compound so summer wear seems to be no worse than on summer tyres. driving on the right side |

Well I finally bit the bullet on Friday, MOT was due etc etc so I decided to go all in and get the cross climates 235 55 19s, yes they are expensive but hopefully worth it. They are a lot quieter than the Kuhmo crap that were on when I bought the car. Wet greasy roundabouts are now not an issue. I will keep this post updated as to how they get on. Hopefully I will be able to help other people with the difficult choice of tyres. They are just far to expensive to make the WRONG choice. I will update soon guys. Keep posting your findings and experiences and help a fellow freely owner out FREELANDER 1 55 plate XS TD4 Had for 7yrs now sold 😢

Agree noisier than normal road tyres but it doesn't bother me and gives the f2 a purposeful appearance. But bad for suspension???
