Fender Bender: Cost vs Claim Thoughts?

Hi Lads - appreciate your thoughts, currently debating whether to lodge a claim or fork out and repair at cost.

While camping at the weekend I caught the front passenger wing while reversing. The panel needs to be replaced as well as the skirt body styling cover on the wing. The panel shifted back slightly and will catch the door if opened (there's a tiny chip on the door as a result) as well as a small scratch on the black vent.

Excess is $750 - budget direct. Parents are in town in weeks, really not sure I can wait for a claim to go through. With the door catching it makes using it difficult.

$1500 to spray and replace? It's not likely is it? What's odd is LR are already replacing the front bumper due to a paint issue.
I'm located in North Sydney.

Keen for some thoughts on cost etc

Have you got a couple of quotes? I would not start guessing cost of repairs.

Once you have a price decide whether the cost of claiming is worthwhile taking in account any possible future increases in insurance over the next few years due to loss of good driver discounts etc etc.

Can you massage the panel back a touch with a block of timber, cloth & hammer to survive the immediate period. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
