Hi bogart the battery is only 3 months old as with you its was ok for the first few months.then one cold morning back to square one.did you charge your battery on the freelander connected up or with the battery disconnected.this seems to be up for debate.i,m looking at hard wiring a plug for a trickle charger with battery connected .?.

I did both. Battery seemed to charge better not connected to the vehicle but still not ideal hence the decision to change it.
The original might have lasted a bit longer if the vehicle was not used for fairly short runs which it predominantly is.

England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

hi bogart.
interested in this thread as my fl2 was cranking a bit before starting(2010 xs e)I have used my ctek charger with batt in car, left on for 24 hours but not much different.i had the FREE landrover winter health check last week, all was well but they did say batt was low and would need a long charge etc due to the cold conditions and short journeys etc, they also mentioned the batt was the original so was well over 6 yrs old so could be ready for replacement.
I got a battery from fleabay,an AGM 85ah/800cc with a 5 year g/t for £95,which I will fit this weekend.
I did notice the one you bought was a 77ah 760cc,i looked at the compatability for a fl2 and it said it was not suitable for a 2.2 diesel but ok for the 3.2 petrol.

Stop Start batteries are different to early motors even if they are diesel not petrol. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current
