As John Cleese often said "are you missing the bleeding obvious?"

What's the temperature up where you are? If cold, could it be the fuel waxing? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I'm assuming the filler cap breather is clear. Could be moisture frozen on the fuel cap creating a vacuum and stopping the fuel getting through. Pop the cap and listen for a big hiss. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory |

Have you been using bio fuels? How old is your fuel filter?

If you have the tools it could be worth pulling the right front connector from the fuel filter and attaching a hose with a bulb pump on to see if you can draw diesel through. That should prove if the filter/pickup is blocked. If you have a clear length of tube that will fit you can suck it through with your mouth, just keep an eye on the tube so you don't get a gob full. Use whatever Tesco dish out which I think is Esso. Changed 2 yrs ago and under 20000 miles .If it was blocked I would have thought I would get erratic running first. Not running ok then nothing. |

Have a small 12v pump which I could perhaps use. Not sure which of the pipes to pull off as you state.I believe there are 4 in total, I think. I will have to try it in the morning as the car is in the village hall car park. |

I would start by having a look at the fuses. Understeer when you hit the wall with the front of the car.

When standing facing the car with the bonnet open, the fuel filter has 4 connectors, two on the left two on the right, you want to use the one on the right nearest to where you stand (furthest from the engine). HTH FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory |

In my apprenticeship days I had to go out with my mechanic to a regular fleet customer and warm up half their fleet with industrial space heaters to get the lorries to start in winter because the fuel had waxed in the pipes. Mind you, that was back in the days when winters were winters, even dahn sarf! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto Present: Audi A3 S Line. |
