I send AndyBitz an email, asking for a special deal, with his 'red edged' rear badge, which matches nicely with my SVR badges..

He never bothered to reply, nor does he answer his landline... So, the deal with Andy went 'to Bitz' ...

Lucky for me, since in the mean time I traced this post ; now I do not want his bitz anylonger..

I sourced the zilver/black badges front/rear and steeringwheel and B-pillars in China. I have to wait about the qualitiy, but the price is unbeatable,
although comparable with the "GEL-option".

The colour of the Land Rover badges makes no difference, but SVR on a Freelander looks daft, as daft as people shoving a supercharger badge on when they obviously haven't got one

To be honest : I'd love to buy the new Range Rover with SVR add-ons...

Thing is, in the Netherlands I'd pay 150.000,- on top of the price for taxes only..
I can not complaint, but I'm not that wealthy...

Great laughs I had, often with real fat & old geezers in 'REAL' AMG cars...

I had infinite more fun in my smart than they had with their 60 times over more pricey tart-tractors..

And I had something they didn't even have : a heater to preheat the car [ DEFA, electric... ]

And the 'official' special Smarts are Brabus... So its a UNIQUE car ; only one in the world..

Well, I have to conceed to joining the "black badge fail" club, not for delaminating or falling off but for fading and going yellow.
This was only after one Summer season in Australia, same result as Cambo reported earlier in this thread, very dissapointing.



But I'm also dissapointed to report that the Gell overlays have also failed and simply cannot handle the extreme heat conditions we have here in Australia. Pic below is one hot afternoon parked in my garage with gel overlay beginning to peel off. On other days when parked outside in the sunlight I would return to all black gel overlays hanging off and yes I cleaned thoroughly with Isoprol Alcohol before applying.



The only gel overlay badge which seemed to be surviving was the grill badge as this was adheared directly to the grill and not applied over an existing badge which gave me an idea and a final solution to try.



I had both C pillar and tailgate badge bases professionally painted in gloss black with the hope that the gel badges would have a superior surface to adhear to and hopefully not peeling off with our extreme heat conditions.








So all badges are on the vehicle for its second summer season so hopefully this is the solution.

Happy to report that whilst i was baking on the sand at the beach today that when i returned to the car all badges were in place and not peeling off like previously so this looks like it's going to work.....woohoo!
Long term will be the test with the heat and sun exposure though and whether the gel badges are any better at standing up to the harsh heat and sunlight.
They look great at the moment! MY15
