driving over a speed hump in first gear heard a ping from the rear passenger side, sounds like a bag of spanners rattling in the boot, snapped spring.cars done 40k .i can understand this on the average car but not a landrover that is designed for off road use.well pi..sed

I had it at 47K front near side spring. Never been off road. Spring had evidence of rust around break but the rest, clean and tidy. In the end I had just the one spring replaced and changed top mount. Had mileage been much higher I'd have changed both but this is low mileage. Car drives fine 100%

Very sad that springs fail on a Land Rover First and only FL2 from new. Stornaway Grey 77k

It seems to be that most plastic coated coils springs break when there's a chip in the coating that lets water sit under it and rusts. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

I know someone who bought a new spring for a Corsa recently some plastic coating had lifted and it was rusty out of the box he took it back for replacement and got it but also got a really snotty attitude about it.
