Looking to buy a Freelander 2.

Hi, new to the forum, but have been looking for a Freelander 2 for a few weeks. We currently own a Disco 2 and a 1972 Series 3. We intend to replace the Disco with a freelander manual. One we have seen has about 25000, 2013.
Any advice, things to look out for.
Thanks Ian.

Welcome to Freel2 Thumbs Up

The quickest way, as there have been dozens of posts asking this question, type 'things to look for' in the search box, it throws up some good threads worth reading.

2013 car is pretty much sorted as most problems have been ironed out by then, 25000 is nothing, my 2013 car has 60k and still looks and drives like new.

Coincidentally Im browsing with the same notion with which to replace my beloved D2. It will be a heartbreaking wrench though because Ive had it 10 years. Still not totally convinced that the F2 will be all the car the Disco has been - not the 7 seat part anyway! Or the load bay volume for bring back vast quantities of French red wine. Other than that it seems a much more cost effective alternative to a D4 - which is what my heart really says Bow down

England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi

Well if I could my time again I would still be driving my D2. A 2000 x plate GS which when I sold it was going like a train and was nothing other than reliable. I think if I had decided to keep it, kept on top of corrosion issues and looked after the td5 I see no reason why it would not still be ok. Loads of spare parts on the shelf to choose from so why not? I have not made the same mistake with my 110 Defender CSW, a 1991 200tdi which I will keep till I drop!

I appreciate a Defender is more like Triggers Broom and you can keep on top of issues easier but I do regret moving on the D2. The appeal of a 'Modern land Rover' was part of it. Yes a FL2 is a good car but it does have its issues, it I am sure, will not be still going at 26 years old with 180k on the clock like my 110!
